Hey, I’m Vova! My kombucha journey started at age 11 when I first tasted a refreshing, home-brewed batch poured from a cloth-covered jar on a friend’s kitchen counter. Years later, in 2010, that memory sparked a passion, and I began brewing my own. Wherever I went — even during a 5-month stay in Hawaii — I brought my kombucha with me, experimenting with flavors, refining techniques, and sharing it with my close circle.
As my craft evolved, so did the encouragement to take it further. Eventually, I set out to create something small and local, securing health department approval to sell my kombucha. Now, I’m excited to share my creations — both timeless classics and bold, unexpected flavors — with you.
THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
The name Kormy Batch was inspired by an unforgettable encounter. While paddle boarding on Lake Ontario, I rescued a cormorant (a native aquatic bird) tangled in fishing line. Despite its injuries, it fought with incredible determination—an experience that stayed with me.
Cormorants symbolize resilience, adaptability, and transformation—all values that resonate deeply with my journey as a brewer. Kormy honors that spirit, while Batch reflects my dedication to small-batch, craft kombucha.
